How to Play Retro Bowl

Objectives and Player Role

Retro Bowl puts you in a dual position: both as a coach and as the person directly commanding the offensive plays on the field. Your main mission is to lead your team through the season, claim victories, and ultimately become the Retro Bowl champion.

Match Rules

Each match is divided into 4 quarters. You have 4 downs to move the ball past the first down marker, maintaining your offensive momentum. Each quarter gives you 2-3 timeouts, depending on its length, allowing players to pause and adjust strategies. Before the hike (the start of a play), you can call a timeout or an audible to change tactics if the situation looks unfavorable.

Game Controls

  • Passing the ball: Swipe on the screen to set the pass distance. The stronger the swipe, the farther the ball goes. Place a second finger on the screen to switch between a bullet throw and a regular throw.
  • Controlling the ball carrier: Swipe up/down to dodge defenders, swipe forward to burst ahead, or swipe backward to taunt or adjust running rhythm.

Environmental Factors and Challenges in Retro Bowl

Weather conditions such as rain, snow, and wind directly affect the match. They reduce player speed, make passing more difficult, and increase the risk of fumbles (dropping the ball). These elements make every game unpredictable and more intense.
